When Adam Goes to Grammy's House

Since Jack had to go to class tonight and Adam gets bored waiting during that time, Adam went to Grammy's house during Jack's class.
Adam and Grammy made cookies...and a mess. We used to keep spare changes of clothes at Grammy's, but I haven't updated her supply in a while, so when she threw his clothes into the wash, she didn't have anything there to put on him...so he ended up coming home in one of her shirts. Oh, my.

So Cool

Adam did a marble painting in school today and Jack insisted on hanging it on the fridge because "it's so cool!"

Mason's 9 Month Check-up

Mason weighs 18lb 5oz and is just over 27in long.

His seventh and eighth teeth are coming in and he's starting to eating lots of table food.

He's great at pulling up to standing, but still gets stuck in that position in his crib.

Sadly, Mason is going to need a haircut soon. We wanted to let it grow like Jack's when he was a toddler, but it's in his eyes all the time, so maybe just a tiny little trim.

Getting a little long...but they're so cute!

Battling Cabin Fever

All this cold weather has the boys going a little crazy from cabin fever, so we headed out for them to play this morning. It was a first- they were the only ones in the play area for almost a half hour.

Taking a Rest

Four year-olds don't take naps, you know, but they occasionally "take a rest." Jackie told me that he wanted to take a rest in the toy box and asked if I would tuck him in. I told him no and that all the toy boxes had toys in them. He promptly showed me that I was wrong, that one of the toy boxes had been completely emptied and that "My brother did it."

Gotta love his facial expression. Oh, and no, we haven't started spiking his hair, that's all static from the toy box.

Chillin' With Penguin

Pulling Up

Mason has learned to pull himself up, though he hasn't quite figured out how to get down yet. This is not so much fun in the middle of the night.

The Bigs

There was a puppy at Adam's school today, though I'm not sure why. When I picked him up, his teacher said that all Adam wanted to do was pet the puppy, hug the puppy, kiss the puppy, chase the puppy, etc. He's been telling me all day that "Oh, no! Puppy gone!" Good thing the puppy was at Adam's school and not Jack's, since Jack would have refused to go through the door if there was a puppy in there.

The dentist came to visit Jack's school today and Jack is amusing us with stories about sugar bugs that live in his food that he needs to brush out of his teeth.

Out of nowhere tonight, Jack informed me that "It hurt when I was a baby and I was born. That's why I went WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Then he laughed and said, "That's why I did the wah dance, because it hurt to be born." The wah dance is what Jack called it when Mason was a newborn and would cry and flail his arms about.

That Grin!

All Better

Saying a prayer, crossing my fingers, and knocking on wood: finally my boys are all feeling better.

Gym Party

Adam and birthday girl, Rylee
Jack thought it was fun to throw himself off of the rings, so all those shots are blurry...like a lot of the shots today, since they didn't stop moving!

Adam had no fear of anything and of course found a ball that he didn't want to let go of.

The kids lying down on the bouncer, as it was being inflated. Jack freaked out as soon as it started moving and jumped off, while Adam wanted to jump up and down on it.

Caught them both in mid-air:

Valentine's Pics from the Past

After our adventure at Christmastime of trying to get all three boys into a pic together, I thought I'd skip Valentine's Day this year. But, I thought I'd show some of the cute pics that were taken of the boys at this time of year in years past.

Jack, age 14 months

Jack, age 2; and Adam, age 9 months

And then there was last year's effort: Jack, just over 3, and Adam, 21 months. What a disaster it was trying to get them both to cooperate. This pic pretty much says it all...we did eventually get a great shot, but it was when we came back to view the pics and did a second session with the boys, but they only uploaded the first session to the site, so I only have easy access to the awful pics!
Maybe next Valentine's Day we'll be able to get a pic of all three together. Or maybe I'll just get a picture collage done.

My Funny Valentines

It's not quite Valentine's Day yet, but the bigs had their Valentine's Day parties at school today. Such funny boys I had on my hands this afternoon.

Jackie is holding his "mailbox" with all his valentines in it. That thing went everywhere with us today; I think it's even tucked in beside him in bed tonight.

No, those aren't golf clubs...they are swords. You do realize that Adam is a musketeer, right? Sworn to protect Minnie Mouse. So watch out, bad guys!

Last, but not least, our little cupid baby.

What a sweet kid

I took the boys to Grammy's house today so that she and Papa could watch them while I went to get my hair done.

Jackie asked me why I needed to go get my hair done. I told him it was because my hair was a mess.

Very seriously, he told me, "Your hair isn't a mess, Mommy. You look just like Sleeping Beauty."

How sweet...though give him a year or two and I'd be saying "what a little manipulator...what do you want for saying that?"

Almost All Better

Mason's rash is almost all gone. In any event, he's a happy little bug today.

Jackie's Moves

Jackie took his first karate class tonight. He got right into the act as soon as we put his uniform on(well, minus the belt...they had to do that for us, since I'm going to need to see it done a few more times before I have a clue how to tie that thing). He was telling me all about what he remembered from a birthday party that he went to back in August where they had a karate lesson.

He had a big grin on his face the whole time. When he came out of the classroom, he sat down on a chair and told me that he wasn't ready to leave yet, that he wanted to go in for another class.
He insisted on stopping to see Daddy at work because "I want to show Daddy my moves!"

Zoo Trip

It was a gorgeous day to go to the zoo- in the 50s! Mason isn't contagious, so I figured the fresh air could do all of us some good. There was hardly anyone there, so Adam could run around with Jackie, instead of being confined to the stroller for most of the trip. He was so excited!

Adam is saying "Look at the lions!"

Jack was none too thrilled to be inside the elephant house. Yuck! The baby elephants are still cute, though.

For quite a while, we were the only ones in with the penguins. A big change from how that area usually is- where you can't even walk through that area without having to basically push and shove your way through. The penguins seemed extra playful, too...though that might just be because we were actually able to see them!

The sea lions were definitely extra playful today. They kept swimming past the windows, making faces at the boys. Jackie was pretending to swim like a sea lion.

Trip to the Doctor, take...I've lost count

You know it's bad when the nurses at the pediatrician's office are joking about your family single-handedly paying their bills for the month. I took Mason in today with a severe ear infection and roseola. Poor little guy. You can't see how bad his rash really is in this pic- his face, back, and belly were practically completely red.

They're Mine

Since Daddy and I take turns blaming each other for the kids' more...ahem...quirky personality traits- "He's so your child," I figured I'd 'fess up to some that they do get from me.

Yesterday, amid all of our errands, I had to drop off a few books at the library. Since we had so much else to do and very limited time, I pulled up to the front of the library and dropped the books through the drop slot. Jack had a complete and total breakdown, crying and almost shrieking, desperately wanting to go in to get new books and not understanding why he couldn't. I'll claim his love of books and crabbiness if he can't have a new book.

This morning, I was trying to put shoes on Adam. I grabbed his cute rain boots first since it's wet outside. Nope, not havin' it. Tried his snow boots, still not havin' it. Was rooting around, trying to find his second tennis shoe when he brought me his crocs. Patted my knee and said, "Don't worry, it's okay." And sat down for me to put his crocs on. Not wanting to wear shoes? Yup, definitely like his mama.

But, all those other quirks that can make them difficult sometimes, I have no idea where they came from....

To Give Daddy a Laugh

Adam thought it was pretty funny to put his shirt like this and run around the living room this morning. I do mean run, so it was hard to get a shot of him.
Since I was laughing so hard, Jack decided that it must be a good idea to do this and joined in.

Testing: Polaroid pic

I found a program that lets you turn pics into Polaroid pics(free, too!). You even shake the pic with your mouse to develop it. So, I grabbed an old pic- this one is of Adam taking his very first step(almost 2 years ago) and posted both the Polaroid and the original for comparison. Kind of a fun, retro feel to it.
